Tanworth Cottage.

Post by MousenHeath on Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:34 am

There is Tanworth Cottage itself. Then there is Nyx. The island is not always a happy place; there has been much blood on it's shores. There has been much sorrow in the hearts of the Nyxians. Not everyone is a good person here. You will go a long way to find someone with a heart of gold. Everyone has their own issues; many of them aren't glazed over.

I don't write about nice characters; because in my life I have never came across many nice people. Perhaps that makes Nyx a sad place and me a sad person. But there is good and evil in everyone; it is perhaps just bringing the good out in some of my characters that takes the time. I don't write about perfect characters; nor will all of the endings be happy. Nyx is a story; a living thing. Part of my life that will continue to grow as I do. Nyx will never end; just as no story ever dies.

Nyxia Noir

Post by MousenHeath on Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:34 am

Nyxia Noir is quite possibly the most famous face in Nyx, she did create the realm after all. Nyxia, tends to be quite fun loving, mischievous and slightly dark, being a goddess of night that was obvious. People don't fear the dark in Nyx, for fearing the dark is fearing Nyxia. She considers herself to perhaps be a bit of a Lithen (fate traveller) and tends to do things on impulse rather than thinking things through. She's a kind soul, but like most things in Nyx, she does have a darker side. Just as Nyx has it's twisted and dark side, though never evil, so does Nyxia. She tends to contradict people alot, and only wants straight out answers no beating around the bush with her. She knows when she is being lied to. She can be very intimidating when she wants to be. Even though she has an "rush into danger without thinking" attitude she is most definitely powerful enough to get herself out of ninety-nine percent of the scrapes she gets herself into. She's rather immature for a Goddess and loves to make things... difficult for the important people in Nyx, making them answer questions they were really hoping she wasn't going to ask. Nyxia can be quite wise if you catch her in the right mood, though on most occasions you'll get her mischievous side.

Nyxia has a young face, she only looks about 20, give or take a few years in either direction, she has a pretty heart shaped face with large almond shaped eyes. Her eyes can be unnerving, since they are such a dark grey you cannot tell the pupils from the irises. She's slightly smaller than average, though she's very skinny. Nyxia has a small, slightly pointed nose, though she complains about it alot. She has a mane of black curly hair, which reaches all the way down her back. It's always tangled. Her usual attire is soft classical Nyxian boots, in a deep grey, a long black dress which always seems to have some sort of debris from the woods caught in it, and a black velvet cloak, with a deep midnight blue lining and silver fastenings.

Nyxia's Accomplices

Post by MousenHeath on Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:34 am

Montague; The Eternal Night.

Gwenwyn, The Venomous Death.

.: Arrats: The Seer :.
In her many forms the seer is powerful and mysterious. The glowing markings are not mere patterns of her fur, they are etched into her skin, they glow with an ethereal light. Her accent is strangely unplaceable, touched with the sound of many exotic places.
Like most things here W.I.P

The Heaths

Post by MousenHeath on Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:35 am

The Heaths are an old, huge shapeshifter family. They've been here since the start of Nyx. They tend to be even more chaotic then regular shapeshifters and that's saying something. The Heaths as a family are powerful, if a tad... unusual? They know everything that's going on in Nyx, if you want to find out what's happening in Nyx, just ask a Heath, if you dare that is. Many of them tend to he slightly violently inclined. At the moment they're are sixteen Heaths around Nyx, that we know of that is, after all many of them have gone missing, some say they moved to a hell realm, others say they have a hut in the forest of Nhimn, one of the most ridiculous thoughts is that they died. Of course no one really knows how long shapeshifters live...

The Towers of Shroom and Their Inhabitants.

Post by MousenHeath on Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:44 am

The Towers of Shroom have many inhabitants, the magicians, the students, the political stalk's inhabitants. Even the shapeshifter sector's have their staff, though most of them do go home when the lights go out. Some of the older stalks make up housing for the workers.

The middle stalk of the Shroom is the tallest and most winding, it has seven floors, the entrance hall, the dormitories, the first class room, the second classroom, the third class room, the library, the restricted library and the head masters study. There's also the roof used for stargazing. Where the other teachers live we aren't sure, through we assume they live in one of the non-commercial Shroom stalks. They only take human seventh sons of seventh sons and more recently seventh daughters of seventh daughters. They are the only things that have enough magic already in the blood. There is only three teachers at the academy, one teaches the theory of magic, one teaches the basics of magic and the final teaches advanced magic. Magic, if everything but the elements, for that you'd have to be born with the gift or experience many, many hours, years of training, even then you may only be able to light a match at will.

The Head Master.

He's also the main magician in Nyx, his name is Albion. He is very wise, and has even given advise to the goddess herself! He tends not to judge people and thinks most things deserve a second chance. He's also a Lithen, a fate traveller, though that doesn't mean he won't try to unravel what's coming your way if you ask him nicely. He often forgets things though he seemingly only remembers when he's right at the bottom, meaning his poor apprentice has to run up seven flights of spiral stairs to get it, luckily for his apprentice, Albion isn't a complete stickler for rules, so Fairfax doesn't get to badly scolded when he slides down the banister. He teaches the last class.

He's advanced in age, and has small midnight blue eyes. He wears what he thinks a wizard should wear, a bottle green, or deep purple robe, usually. Though sometimes he wears a midnight blue or even a crimson, he only wears black on morning days. He's quite tall, very tall actually and he has long point ears, a fey trait. He tends to wear an old fashioned crooked hat, or no hat at all if he can't remember it.

Elmar, Basic Magic Teacher.

Elmar, is much younger than his co-teachers by many years, himself only being in his late twenties. He was never quite up to the standard of an apprentice, but he was still very good. Elmar, is cool headed, and has a generally lax "it's all good man."attitude toward everything, suffice to say that the kids manage to get away with hell in his class. He's often found asleep at his desk, the students trying to turn him into a goat. Either that or he's passed out somewhere odd or smoking something that may just be illegal in one of the the realms, one things for sure that purple dust he puts in his pipe is not from Nyx. Strangely enough he's a gifted fire elemental. Even though he tends to be "out of it" alot of the time, he can actually be quite nice. He hates been taken advantage of, anyone who does that is in for a nasty surprise.

Elmar had long brown hair he ties up into a ponytail, and pale washed out blue eyes. More often than now, he's seen wearing his seven foot long scarf, hanging like a pea green snake around his neck, considering he'd six foot himself, you can under stand it takes alot of wrapping round, even for some one his height, he wears a brown patched coat that goes down to his ankles it's always covered in burn marks and is patched in many places with paisley fabric. You can tell he's been to many realms other than Nyx.

Bromkey, Magical Theory Teacher.

Bromkey is a sour soul, he enjoys making the students crumble under the workload he gives them. He tends to be full of malice and spite. He hates being wrong and out smarted and enjoys thinking up punishments for his pupils. He hates animals and you would put it past him to eat most pets he finds in the dormitories, well he would if Albion didn't stop him. He enjoys making rules in his classes, petty little rules that catch the brats out. Even though he hate animals he keeps no less than twelve cats in his class room. Bromkey is probably the grumpiest soul on Nyx, having said that he is very loyal to Nyxia.

He's a small withered man, with dark little beetley eyes and a long crooked nose. He wears small wire glasses, and wears the same patched, faded browny-yellow coat everyday. He walks with a slight limp and has a scar down his the right side of his face.

No one knows that in his youth Bromkey was favourite to become head master of the Shroom Academy, but he was attacked by a spelleater eater snake and never recovered fully, his cousin Albion taking the top spot. Bromkey would never admit to the fact that he still harbours resentment toward Albion, but he does. His magical energy is still very weak today, having never fully recovered. So he can only teach magical theory.

Fairfax, the apprentice.

Fairfax was left outside the Shroom towers when he was only a week old. His parents had too many mouths to feed, she he was left with a note claiming he was a seventh son of a seventh son. After a several tests this proved true and he began his training at an early age. He instantly had a grasp for magic, he was a quick leaner and picked it up fast. His parents were very selfish people even though they could afford five children (two were miscarriage) they decided that too afford the luxuries they had some would have to go. Linwood, a subordinate for the Towers of Shroom became Fairfax's adopted mother, he adores her and wishes she didn't have to work so hard.

Fairfax himself is a very kind individual, Linwood taught him not to let anything go to waste as such he makes the most unusual dishes out of left overs, he was taught how to cook, it just didn't sink in. He seems to have no taste buds whatsoever though that may have been to do with Linwood's very, very hot chicken pie. He's a good person and likes to do the right thing. He's got his heart in the right place even if he's a little stubborn at times. Fairfax is a generous person, tough he will not be taken advantage of. When he's not in a very good mood he tends to push people away, he often gives the impression of being cold, even though he is the exact opposite. He tends not to be very good with strangers, again giving the impression of being emotionless or cold. Fairfax tends to panic alot, and he often snaps under pressure. Not a good trait for the next head master, though Albion believe it's a practise that will lessen with age. Fairfax is fifteen, just a few years older than the rest of the students.

Fairfax has curly brown hair and large brown eyes, he tends to wear whatever Linwood picks up for him, so it's usually patched, ragged and brown, or woollen, he wears brown leather fingerless gloves always since he always seems to need the extra guard, he doesn't seem to take much pride in his appearance and is always mucky. Fairfax always seems to look very skinny, and has that "runner bean" or "flag pole" appearance, he always seems to be growing out of his clothes, he's obviously going to be tall, he's several inches behind Elmar, thankfully Linwood is convinced that growth spurt is over.

Hadley

Hadley is the trouble causer, he comes from the darker area of the port. He's streetwise and quick witted he tends to talk his way out of any situation, right or not. He can be persuasive when he want to be, though tends to take the obvious straight in your face route to everything, you will know if he doesn't like you. He tends to be out smarted alot by Abigail, he won't admit it, but he probably has feelings for her. Hadley like to act confident, over confident, he is over confident. Some days his ego is as large as the sun itself. He's a fast talker, though not necessarily a fighter, he's quick with a knife yes, though other than that, he prefers to either talk or outrun his opponent. He's quite handy with his magic though tends to use it to get his own way rather than to learn. He find breaking the rules entertaining and loves to think up new ways to annoy Bromkey. Having said that, he's careful not to cross the line and get himself expelled that he couldn't cope with he's seen the dark areas of the port and he doesn't want to end up back there. He knows he needs to study to do something with his life, however since he'd already ahead it doesn't hurt to have a break every now and then does it?

Hadley is the green eyed brown haired monster from hell, he prefers to wear black over most things, though will wear brown if there's nothing else, like Fairfax he wears leather gloves to protect his hands, obviously in black, he enjoys playing the "bad boy" and his looks go along with that, he's shorter than Fairfax's runner bean height, he looks less slight than Fairfax, and he always seems to have a smirk on his face. Whether he means it or not.

Gayle

Gayle is the only female student, she's stubborn on certain subjects and is a very defiant feminist. If there's one way to wind her up mention big headed males. Other than that she's the quiet, almost cute sort. She's practical and aims high. Once she has her sights set one something there's no going back. She's very determined and won't give up until there's no other option. She prefers to stick to the rules, getting into trouble does not fit in her plan to become the teacher of magical theory here. Her heart is in the right place, she's just not sure how to say. She despises Bromkey and will actually jion up with her other annoyance, Hadley to get him back. She seems very tough on the out side, though she she's a little insecure on the inside.
She tends to wear simple pale colours, in the usual coarse Nyxian fabrics, she always wears the same battered rabbit fur boots, unless it's stifling out side, which tends to be quite rare. Her hair is never loose it's always tied back with red ribbon's a gift from her mother. Her hair is fair in colouring and her eyes are a bright blue. She's just thirteen.

She was the one girl who campaigned for females to be aloud into the Shroom Academy. With a few changes to the other wash room, and a little persuasion she was allowed in. She was welcomed with open arms by most. Except of course Bromkey he firmly believes a woman's place is infront of the stove. She believes his place is under ten foot of earth. She lived on a farm with her six sisters and two brothers, food was scarce and they made the best of it. She was very much a Daddy's girl, not that she sees him much any more. Her other siblings are terribly jealous save for the two boys, who think it's cool. But the wrath of the girls keeps her far enough away.

Pedro.

Pedro fell into Nyx though a glitch. Nyxia offered to return him, but he declined. He likes it here, besides his parents don't worry, with eight mouths to feed, they'd be glad he made it seven. He'd been planning to leave home for a long while any way. He won't speak much about his time in the other realm, though we guess it was earth as he speaks with a slight Mexican accent, it becomes much worse when he's angry he's even been know to start spouting full blown Spanish if you wind him up enough. He's a nice person though, he says what he thinks, not what people want him to say. You can't persuade him to do anything he knows almost every trick in the book and often acts as Hadley's second in command. Together both of them can wangle themselves out of most things, especially if Fairfax or Gayle help. He's good at magic though he started to learn far to late to get anywhere near Fax's standard. He doesn't mind though. He's one of those people whose thankful for what he's got give or take a teacher...

He has short dark hair and a Spanish complexion, with dark, dark eyes. He normally wears some small rectangle wire framed glasses as he's long sighted, he hates to wear them though and prefers to trip over every obstacle under five feet away. He tends to wear the normal Nyxian attire, brown course tunics, and such, Pedro looks about the same age as Fairfax, though he says he doesn't know. He's about the same height as Hadley if a little taller, not that Hadley will admit that.

Dwennon,

Dwennon is first and foremost Gayle's younger brother, he's also a gifted earth elemental. He doesn't train at the Academy, though he does get lessons of Elmar, he moved out shortly after Gayle did, only discovering his gift when Gayle's six sisters turned on her, like her they had been spoiled by their father, even if they didn't have much, the boys had always been second, they were workers to his dad. So he only found out on his gift when he entangled his six sisters in vines.

He's positive, and is very optimistic for his eleven years. He tends to be the practical one, but with six, seven spoiled sisters and an irate brother some one had to take charge and be the mature one. He's still at the stage where he finds girls gross. Alot come to him for advice, as he's wise way beyond his years, something often found in earth elementals. Though if you come to him for advice on matters of the heart expect to be shown the door. He refused to do all that "soppy, gross stuff" so if you want advice on how to grow the best pumpkins or how to catch a spell eater snake, he's your munchkin, though it is funny to see the luck on his face when you start to talk about "soppy, gross stuff". Though don't push him to far, he is an earth elemental after all.

He has very short, pale blonde and small blue eyes, which you can't often see due to his huge glassed that often give him the impression of looking like a bug, other than that, he like most people wears alot of brown, or what ever seems practical for the season, don't expect him to take pride in his appearance.

The Subordinates:
They are in charge of communications between the different stalks of the Shroom. As such things often fall into chaos.

Linwood,

For some reason she is often mistaken for a male, she hates it. Though her reputation is to be the motherly one. Since she brought Fairfax up from being a baby. She refuses to let any one pay for anything for him she does it out her won wages, the little she gets. Fairfax tries to argue her out of it on a regular basis. Though her stubbornness always seems to get her out of it, it's easy to see where Fax gets it from. She has an iron will. She's stern at times, though only means good. Fairfax will do anything to make her happy. You would expect to her to be very organized, wouldn't you? If anything she's the opposite her short term memory is terrible, infact Fairfax's fantastic memory was probably need because of his mothers dizziness, she can't organize anything with out forgetting how she organized it. Most people how she got the job in the first place.

Lin wears alot of green, simple green clothes and brown boots, if you didn't know anywhere you'd assume this willowy female with shoulder length curly brown hair and deep green eyes was Fax's mother, even though they look startlingly alike, they aren't related in any way. She's thirty-five, much to her displeasure.

Garfield.

Garfield is Garrick's twin. He's the much more nervous of the two, he's convinced they're all going to get fired one day. He tries to keep on the good side of the bosses, normally he just irritates them with his constant clumsiness and terrible stutter that's much. much worse when he's nervous. He always on edge and often accidentally acts as a human shredder when his nerves really get to him. Once even shredding several important documents. Linwood scares him, her strict attitude to him and paper, and his common rain forest quetzal, strangely named Acorn, who seems to be out to cause as much havoc as his tiny self can muster. Garfield is also a terrible clutz knocking things over, sitting on them, generally, accidentally breaking everything... well breakable within a ten mile radius.

Garfield has startling red hair that seems to stick up in every direction possible and a few that aren't. Like his twin he also has odd eyes, a light and a dark green. Though unlike his twin Garfield's eyesight seems to be going, he wears semi-circle on the bridge of his slight crooked nose. Both Garrick and Garfield are a tad younger than Linwood, them being 32 years of age, though at times they both look and act a lot younger.

Garrick.

As Garfield was raised mostly by his mother, seemingly Garrick was raised mostly by his father and they are as different as day and night. Garrick is the relaxed sort, firmly believing that it will "work out allright in the end, man". He seems to smoke what ever Elmar does and has a tendency to fall asleep in the most ridiculous of places. He can be rather sarcastic, and quite blunt. He doesn't seem to grasp "tact" and "sensitivity". He tends to joke around alot, and he often does what whatever it takes to avoid the late-night shifts at she Shroom, going to any and all lengths to avoid working any extra time. He's also very, very lazy. Having said that if you want advice on revenge, avoiding someone and generally doing no-good, Garrick's the person to talk to. His advice on avoiding certain people is actually very good, funnily enough. He can also be very good company if your looking for a semi-sane person who's vaguely amusing and has alot of time on his hands. We forget to mention the fact he's also a maths genius... Go figure.

Even though Garrick and Garfield are twins you can tell them apart easily. Garrick makes no effort to tame his mad, all over the place hair and it seems to be even wilder than Garfield's. His usual attire is a heavy black leather jacket, seemingly both home stitched and old, looking at the amount of times the elbows have been patched. He also wears huge black hobnail boots. They always seem to be covered in mud, or something... Nevertheless with his habit of putting his feet up on the desk, many important papers seem to have gotten stained by mud, much to Linwood's disliking. She hates his boots with a passion, and has tried everything to get rid of them, including getting a grim hound to attempt to rip them to shreds. They seem to be indestructible.

The Political side of the Shroom.
Most of this stalk's workers are not very notable, they come and go very quickly. Or they seem to be very, very, boring. Only several few seem to be recognisable faces in Nyx.

Gabrielle.

Is he the perfect gentleman? The Prince Charming of every girl's dream? Is he kind, caring and considerate? The seemingly perfect angel that let's everybody have their say?
No.
He's a dark twisted soul. Not many people see this, the very few that have almost 90% have ended up dead. He acts the perfect gentleman. He puts on a façade of the troubles mere mortal, trying to climb the political ladder in a world of magicians and shapeshifters. He's a wretched half demon who has a lust for power and a love for seeing pain, physical or mental. He loves torture, Gabrielle also loves being in control. Power. He wants to rule Nyx, whether his demon father knows it or not. He plans and schemes, he likes to play the puppet master behind the scenes. Making sure it's never him that get's the blame. The untarnished angel in a world of dark politics. He can guess how most people with react to things. He knows most emotions and it's impossible to lie to him. Almost impossible. He, no matter how hard he tries cannot understand the chaotic mind of a shapeshifter. He doesn't like them. Infact in his mind they are one of the only things stopping him coming to power, besides Nyxia of course. He keeps trying to impose rules. Not that the public know, not yet. He plans to start putting in a bad word here, and a rumour there. The shapeshifters won't have anywhere to hide. He doesn't seems to underestimate the intelligence of the public. As well as the dark nature of the shapeshifter he plans to deal with first.

Gabrielle does seem to look like an angel, blonde hair, kept short, though not unflatteringly, it seems to fall in his eyes slightly giving him a troubled look. His bright blue eyes seem to glimmer with hope. False hope. He keeps his attire, simple and formal. All black. Except for perhaps a white shirt.

Malament.

Gabrielle's father, he's obviously not a well known figure, obviously since Gabrielle likes to keep his fully mortal façade fool proof. He cloaks himself in shadow, and tends to use his human form to occasionally drop a word in meetings. Though he like his son is twisted with no regard for human, or any kind of life. His aim seems to be to woo Nyxia. Not that she could ever fall for it. He seems to be a little less "on the ball" than his son, who often gets frustrated with him. He was attacked by a group of mindeater turtles, when Gabrielle was about six. He was never quite the same, he often appears absent minded and very forgetful, though it doesn't stop him from being a dark soul. Twisted, much, much like his son. He bears little thought for Gabrielle's mother who died shortly after giving birth to Gabrielle. For some reason this seems to irk the little "angel" though he cannot see why. Though don't let his seemingly absent nature fool you, if you ever meet him that is, Malament spends most of his time in the chaos realms. Malament is the name he goes by, no one has any inclination of his true one.

No-one really knows what he looks like, though he tends to take the form of a middle aged man, well dressed, with dark hair, his face always seems to be over shadowed, though he is blind in one eye.

Mr. Harrison, the shapeshifter regulations official.

Mr. Harrison hates his job. He's terrified by it. Shapeshifter regulations, they were implemented rather suddenly by an anonymous source. He was happy being janitor, now he has to risk his life telling chaotic minded, often slightly mad and very violent shapeshifters what they can and can't do. He has to track them down, make them register on the list. It's not fun. He's a very grouchy man, and seems to believe the whole world is against and him alone. Each shapeshifter has to be registered and have yearly checks to make sure that they aren't to wild for society to handle.No-one has yet informed Harrison what he has to do if the shapeshifters are too rowdy. Quite frankly he doesn't want to find out.

Harrison is a middle aged man, his hair thinning quite considerably on top. He's thin and sallow skinned giving him the impression of a sickly runner bean. He would wear a horse hair toupee, had it not been set on fire by a drunk Elmar. He usually wears sickly green-yellow tweed jackets and an equally horrible, venomous purple tie. How they managed to die it such a bright purple is beyond most people. He always carries the same black brief case and is usually seen with his ridiculously large square glassed perched on his nose.
